TROLLEY BUS OR MANATEE COUNTY AREA TRANSIT BUS
A real bonus to living and vacationing at Runaway Bay is the extremely convenient, environmentally-friendly, and FREE Anna Maria Trolley bus service.
The Trolley runs the length of the island (with 14 stops) from 6am to 10pm daily. The Northbound stop is immediately next to the Runaway Bay entrance on Gulf Drive, with the Southbound stop a few yards south on the other side of the Gulf Drive. Find more information and timetables here.
Also, you can easily link to the Manatee County Area Transit bus system to further your explorations or head to shopping areas in the Bradenton Area. Just catch the bus on either Cortez Road or Manatee Avenue; check out the schedules and prices.
ANNA MARIA ISLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Visit the Anna Maria Island Historical Society and learn about the island’s origins as an Indian fishing camp, homesteaders from the 1800s and our most infamous old jailhouse… To discover Old Florida, visit their official website.
