Runaway Bay – Guidelines

For your convenience, kayak racks, swimming pool tables, seats and loungers can all be found around our community. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Charcoal grills and picnic tables are provided for you at several locations around the community.

For safety reasons, it’s worth knowing propane canisters greater than 1lb are prohibited by State law – as is cooking on lanais, balconies, steps, sidewalks, in the parking lot, or within 10 feet of any building.

Please store any grill unit under the stairs, in the unit storage room or on the lanai when not in use.

Please put bikes and beach and recreation items under the stairs, or between the first floor kitchen windows; kayaks may be stored in the racks provided after registering with the Operations Manager.

Please remove hammocks when not in use; keep public areas on lawns, upper walkways and stairways safe and clear of obstructions.

One small licensed pet weighing less than 20lbs is permitted per unit, if owner-approved. The County requires pets to be up to date with shots and on a leash when outdoors at all times. Please pick up after your pet and safely dispose of any droppings in a plastic bag in one of the dumpsters.

The City rules, which we wholeheartedly endorse, require quiet hours from 10pm to 8am.

For obvious reasons, wet towels and clothing etc. should not be dried on bushes or front or rear railings.

Smoking or vaping on the grounds is ONLY permitted in the designated area on the north side of the clubhouse. Please don’t throw butts on the ground or in the waterways (these are toxic and take up to 10 years to decompose).

Please be sure to read local rules posted at the pool. The pool and surrounds are for persons residing here only. As a courtesy, 8:30am-10:30am is set aside for exercise and laps is set aside for exercise and lap swimming.

For the safety of all and as a courtesy to your fellow residents, glass of any sort, smoking, parties, active games and running are not permitted in the pool area. People have been hurt by balls (large and small) and there’s no room for rafts/tubes. So please – no balls, rafts or inner tubes at the pool. However, baby floats, exercise belts and noodles are okay!

There are no lifeguards and responsible adults account for their own safety, and safety of those who need supervision, regardless of age.

Pool closing time is per local laws and clearly displayed.

Roadworthy gas (golf) carts and medical mobility devices are permitted on the property. Electric golf carts; motor homes; RVs; campers; trailers; skateboards; hover boards; Segways and scooters etc. are not.

Please don’t overlap sidewalks with your car because people can’t pass. Drive slowly and with care.

These may be anchored in the shallows along the bay but not secured to the fishing deck, plantings or mangrove trees, which are protected by State law.
